Koi Colours And Their Meanings

I don't think so, but I couldnt be sure.


Some of them are quite easy to remember, Hi utsuri are the majority red fish with black, Shiro utsuri are te majority white with black, Ki utsuri I think are yellow and black I think. THis is off the top of my head so don't be surprised if it's wrong.

The white koi with a red mark on it's forhead (ippon) are regarded as lucky by some, but beyond that, I wouldn't be able to tell you.

This is a hard one, I have a bunch of Koi's and I find it hard to find any sites that are for Koi beginners and don't suddenly turn Japanese on me when I am trying to identify my fish. We've always just refered to them as "The Koi Boys".

I'd like to know more about their colours. If anyone knows, I'd be happy to listen too

That's a great site, well done.

Now, I just have to catch them and hold them down so I can peer down on them from above to compare markings, because everytime they see me coming, I look down on them and only see big open mouths
