hello all, hope things are well. i have a problem and was wondering if anybody could help?
i set my tank up a while ago and last week decided it was time to add some fish. after testing it all was fine except the nitrate was at 0.5. according to my book it said that that was not a problem and it was ok for fish. i bought 2 clowns and a turbo snail and since then i have had this light red dusty looking algae apear which seems to multiply every day. the fish are doing fine, but i was wondering what this stuff is and how to get rid of it. it's on every thing in the tank including the sand. any ideas?
Also, i have 2 seio powerheads which do 4400 lph and 2 maxijet 1200's with the flo's added as advised by the forum, but the fish seem to get a bit swept away by the seio's. i know i need them on for circulation but was unsure if it was ok for the fish. they get around ok and have no problems at feeding time but they seem to favour the same spot most of the time. is this normal?
