Well I got my all pond solutions external filter around a week ago. This is my first tank in around 10 years so I'm not totally clued up on everything yet. So I set it up and it seemed fine but I did think the flow wasn't great, but as I said I'm really not Very clued up on fish keeping so assumed it was ok.

Today I decided to cut down the hoses so I can keep them hidden a bit better behind the tank, as I was putting everything back together I luckily noticed the output tap was not opening when pulling the lever to lock the taps back in place :crazy: so glad I spotted it as it could have stayed like this for months if I hadn't.

Has anyone had any dealing with all ponds solutions after sales service? Obviously I need to replace the broken part, just wondering if it's gonna be easy to get them to send a new one out?

Unsure about replacements, but i know a few members here who have had to deal with their after sales department have reported it's not exactly the best experience of their lives. Worth a go mate, just explain your situation and ask for their advice.

The flow from APS filters is poor really, but the price is excellent. :good:

Thanks for the responses guys. Have sent them an email so will await their response. I've managed to open the faulty tap with a screw driver and the flow has obviously improved hugely :good: will fill a bucket with water from the output pipe later and calculate the flow rate, which appears to be really good at the moment.

When I had mine I broke a clip on when I got it out the box so I emailed them they said send us a pic and well send you a new one straight away and they did

But as said others havnt had as good experience with them :crazy:

I just tested the flow and it works out at wound 600 lph. I dread to think what it was before I forced the faulty tap open.

Test it again in a month, lol. The flow drops no end.

Also, have you mentioned you have forced it back with a screwdriver to APS? They could use this as an excuse.

Will keep an eye on the flow then, thanks for the advice :good:

No I decided to leave out the part involving the screwdriver when I contacted them. Didn't have a lot of choice though, either force it back or have a filter that's not working properly for another week :crazy: tbh if their not helpful about changing the part it's not the end of the world. Just means I can't close the taps when disconnected the filter, not the end of the world.

I also have the APS 1000, i do actually like the filter, just a shame the flow is rubbish. In hindsight i should have gone with the 1400. :rolleyes:

You might get more flow out of the APS1000 by removing all the spraybar modules, depending upon your setup you might still need to use one or two of the 90 degree bends. I found this to drastically improve the flow of my 2000EF, which went from ~900lph with one spraybar module to ~1200lph with just one 90 degree band attached.

I have never had a problem with APS customer service, I find them excellent. Also dont use all the filter pads they send you, just use 1 as this also reduces the flow because they are so thick.

@minnnt
i did consider the 1400 but it wont fit in the cabinet of the juwel 180 as its slighty bigger than the 1000 :angry: i think you also have the juwel 180 so would have the same issue.
thanks to everyone else for the advice, will have a play with spray bar and bends and see what works best for my set up :good:

already had a reply from all pond solutions, which impressed me as its a bank holiday :good: not actually got anywhere yet but they seem pretty helpful so far.
