The ammonia that i am using is called 'kleen off'. Ive heard that this is a popular choice, however my bottle does not have ingredients listed on it.

How can i be sure its safe? Anyone got any experience of this?

If in doubt.... leave it out !
Ring the manufacturer... ask them whats in there... I only use "lab" quality, but theres lots of folk seem to do well with shop bought.

i used kleen off and it worked.

you have to shake the bottle - if it bubbles up the its no good.

As far as i can tell, there is no bubbling - Definatly no foaming.

Kleen off is the recommended brand in the Fishless cycling thread. I just find it odd that there is no ingredients label on it.

Does yours have ingredients on the back?

Mine is a white bottle with an orange, yellow and red design. The words 'Kleen off' are in blue.

Yep that's the stuff i've used, i've cycled two tanks with it, and all inhabitants of the tank are fine.

Theres no ingredients listed on the bottle. 9-10% amonnia the rest is distilled water iirc

i have cycled 2 tanks with kleen off with out any problems

Great news!

Thanks guys.

Yea it stinks, i sniffed it and almost threw up. And yea it has a child safety cap thing, which does a good job of keeping the smell in!

I searched Google. And it works.

It has Water, Ammonium Hydroxide, and Chelting agents.

Thanks Ilya.

A christian user ey? - Ill see you later then. ;)
