Kinda neat..

Definitely high tech stuff. That's why bettas were selected to operate the interactive robotic installation.

That was one giant step for bettakind.

The machine has a vision-based computer sensing system that attempts to decode betta behaviour and translate the information into action (i.e. the direction and speed of the robotic structures).

According to the inventor, the work is "...a small step in a direction that asks what is the fish's desire".

Perhaps the betta of the future will be able to "drive" its fish bowl about (like a vehicle) and go after its owner when the latter forgets to feed it or has failed to do a water-change.

I think it's really cool myself. It makes me feel better to know that I'm not the only one crazy enough to dream up a contraption in order to see bettas outside of the constriction of the bowl  . My craziest idea was little betta space suits/balls (kinda like a hamster ball?) which would allow the fish to have free roam of the house in a hovering mode of some sort. Of course daily water changes would still be essential but I think that would be so cool :*)

Perhaps we'll one day be able to take our bettas for a "walk" in the park.

That'd be really interesting...

Hello sir!
Hello.
My, what have you got there?
Oh, that's my betta.
Interesting.
Yup.
Do you always take it on walks with you?
When it's not raining...oh, haha. He's flaring at you!
Right.
