I've been looking into killifish, but I think my water is just too hard for most of them. Anyway looking in my fish index book they are Cyprinodontiforms. Which covers killifish and egg-laying tooth carps. I'm sure BigC (resident expert from what I've been reading)will correct me on this if I'm wrong. Killifish in the search bar and there's a few posts under Oddballs.
www.bka.org.uk (british killifish association) Loads of info there.
Hope that helps

Actually the killifish *are* the egg-laying toothcarps. The group cyprinodontiformes (toothcarps) includes killifish and livebearers (livebearing toothcarps).

They are really pretty. I have read some are annuals and die off yearly.

I would love a tank of them.

Hard to find here in Melbourne though.

There used to be an Australian and New Zealand Killifish Society but alas I think they have folded.
I you really wan to keep these little jewels then you will have to import eggs from one of the zillions of breeders in specialist clubs/societies.
Regards
BigC
