Thats it I'm hooked I just can't get enough of Killifish there just so cute n cuddly well maybe not cuddly but still.

Anyway Americans can ignore this post, does anyone know where I can get killifish in england since where I got mine from only has 2 types and I want to have a Killi collection.

Or if you're feeling brave you could bid on some eggs on aquabid.com  Not sure on the import / customs restrictions tho ??? Can anybody shed any light ?

Bob

I had a look on there n the bloke selling them seems like a nob, oh and that site doesnt work lol :D

the trimar guy or the aquabid guy seems like a nob?

trimar is a proper shop downin cornwall and a lot of people on here have used them in the past with no problems, maybe you could give them a go?

ok sorry the guy on aquabid whose sellin most of the killifish stuff seems like a nob and expensive and the other site doesn't work half the pictures dont load and i cant find any links on the website to look at stuff

Hey DRD,

I just got a pair of Gardneri from a shop in Buxton. Very healthy and only £5 a sexed pair. They also have Australe Gold.

Tropics of Buxton, Bridge Street.

If you're interested, I cover all of the North-West and work in Buxton lots . . . I'm here now. I also do lots of work in Leeds, Barnsley, Donny etc etc. If you want, I can get you a pair in an evening, and then arrange to be in ur area the next day !!! Hows that for service !

I have just discovered Killis and love em !

If you want, I'll get some piccies of the fish they have in, so you can take a look. Or just do some research on the Killi websites if you're not already familiar with them !

Let me know !

Bob

PS - I also have some eggs on the way from that geeeezer on aquabid, I'll let you know how it goes.

EDIT - These are the species he has in now. Only 2 of the Gardneri males left, 4 australe males. Lots of females tho !

I've got an Australe couple I've just put them in my new tank and I think they might be wanting babies by the looks of the male harrassing her lol. That sounds very tempting I'm in barnsley nearly everynight to see my girlfriend and I live bout 10 mile from leeds so yes that sounds very tempting indeed :D. I'll have a think about it if I hadn't just finished putting my fish in the new tank this morning I'd have said yes stright away but I don't wonna over stress the tank.

The Aqua Inn in barnsley has some Australe and another type that I don't know but they are identical apart from the colouring. Give it a try thats where I got mine from and they're doing just fine.

Hey mate,

You may also be interested to know that there is a killifish convention in Buxton on 2nd/3rd October. I think its the portland hotel, or something like that. The guy in the LFS i mentioned organizes it !!

He said that as well as talks and presentations and stuff, in the mornings they have a members auction where you can pick killis and eggs ! I'm glad its only 10 minutes down the road for me !

Bob

Its about 2 hours for me darn the road. Do you know anywhere that sells mozzi larvi cos I here they love that stuff.

We have a massive pond that they all congrigate over and a small non filterd pond I might have a look in there cheers.

:( Sad day today Volks my female died bless her. She hadn't eaten anything for ages thats why I was in such a rush to get her some mozi eggs but it looks like i was too late

Sorry Volks. :byebye:

Awwww Nawwwww,

Sorry to here that mate. I'm going to get my pair into a separate tank so I can monitor their feeding. I see the male take the odd frozen bloodworm now and then, and a bit of flake . . . but I aont seen the female eat a thing yet..

I'll get them into their own lil tank, get them fed up on bloodworm and mozi lava and see if any eggs appear !

:rip: Sorry again !

Bob

My male eats fine the little porker but i never saw the female eat anything she must have starved herself to death cos I cant see anything wrong with any of my other fish.

PS if you get babies can I have some :D
