For those of you who keep killi fish, I read that they don't live very long (around a year) and was wondering how you keep them. They are very beautiful fish and I would like to keep some but I think they would be expensive to continue to buy. Do you breed them to replace the ones that die?

i'v only read about people who've kept killifish, never had any myself, but from what i'v read most people breed them and replace the ones that died like you said

HTH

Never had any either, but from what I've read the fish lay eggs which must go through a drought/dormant stage. Basically you remove the eggs, dry them, store them. When you are ready to hatch the eggs, rehydrate. Sound like really cool fish, and the colors on some are just amazing.

they look like smaller guppies kinda and can be very colorful.

this is the fish we are talking about right?

Jeffery you may be thinking endlers. Some killifish live for up to five years and some don't need to put there eggs throught droubt (not acctually drying out though you pull the peat moss out and put it in a ziplock bag) You have the internet look them up!
