I've a Clown loach for a couple of years and he dominates the food so much that the other clowns don't get enough. Until they eventually die. He's had a few companions but because of the problem he only has 1 now & I see him getting slimmer all the time.

I do drop in algae wafers, cucumber & croquetes in after lights out but it doesn't look like it's working. Can anyone advise trying something else?

feed more, at opposite ends of the tank. how big is the tank? as you are probably aware they should be kept in 5/6 footers so lots of space for food distribution.

Yup, tried that. He does often manage to grab a pellet but the larger 1 finishes his first and then steals the 1 off the skinny one. I don't want to put too much food in as the larger one often looks like he's going to burst anyway because his belly is so full. Always seems hungry tho.

How do you know the problem isn't that the others have wasting disease?

Well the others have been bought at different times & at 3 different stores. So is it likely? I've also used Interpet 9, anti internal bacteria remedy with no benefit

If you're struggling to find a solution, why not swap the fish at an lfs, or simply return it altogether and give the others chance to fatten up a little.

How large is your tank out of interest?
