Keeping Barbs

3 Green Barbs, you mean Green Tiger Barbs? If so then 6 is the minimum you should have for a fin nipper like that. The more the less likely they are to attack the rest of the tank.

hi
you should be ok with the 6 (as a minimum although more is always better )as green tb's & tb's shoal together,im not sure if the greenies actually know they are green not stripey & vice versa.
tb's like lots of swimming space ie: a long tank, hexagonal tanks are not for them. also make sure you have lots of plants or hiding areas so when they are chasing/being chased by eachother they can hide if necessary. tb's are very sensitive to ammonia/nitrite so i hope they are in a mature tank (ie: cycled tank- see pinned topics on beginners about cycling if you're not sure what im on about)
they love a varied diet - i feed ours flake,granules,catfish/algae tablets, bloodworm, mosquito larvae, daphinia, lettuce & peas - they LOVE their food & are always the first to start dancing at the front of the tank when they think its time for food! just in case ive forgotten.
fantastic fish.i love watching them have their dominance fights where they spin nose to nose round & around!
hope this helps

Ok thanks very much guys

@DarkEntity - yes they are green tiger barbs. The other fish in my tank are 2 X silver Dollars 1 X White cloud mountain minnow and a my huge pleco! (i dont think that fin nipping will be a problem.

@millym - thanks for your help(the greenies do think that they are normals and the normals think they are greenies) :) - i have got a longish tank(60cm so i think they have quite a bit of swimming space.)My tank is fairly old (about 14months so its quite well cycled) I neglected my fish for a while and up till a stage I only had 3 fish but I have rekindled my undying interest into my fish and my tank i super cool at the moment.

My tiger barbs rock!

Thanks for your help guys! :good:

hi
cant see the tb's bothering the other fish you have in there.they should be too busy annoying eachother to even think about it, as long as you avoid fish with pretty flowing fins(guppies, bettas etc) you should be ok! enjoy. :D
