Keeping A Betta With

so a betta and my cories would be fine. just the 1 betta? Would i then be at my limit?
Dont really have anywhere to re home him to ive had him about a year hes about 2 inches :(

do they not get lonely on there own

Bettas generally like their solitude, but if you want to get him a friend, get him a mirror and show it too him for 10-15 minutes a day.

if you rehome a molly and get a betta, you could also add a small school (6 to 8) of dwarf rasboras, or some small tetra species like glow lights or neons.

Oh ok not sure exactly where im going to rehome my mollie to, can i have those tetras as well as my cories ?

Found a home for my mollie he is going tonight !

How many inches are 6-8 tetras or rasboras compared to one molly stocking wise?
And a betta with pygmy corys together, mmm, not so sure but someone may think differently.
Replacing the one molly fish with 6-7 rasboras or tetra fin nippers and a betta in a tank with small pygmy corys is not any better than what the OP originally intended.
I am not certain about the pygmy corys, but they prefer faster water that is not in the high tropical ranges where bettas are quite the opposite.

A Molly that gets quite chunky and large will prude more wate than 6 neons for sure, another reason why the OP should replace the Molly is becuase 10 gallons is a bit too small. And snazy, nobody said that the OP was going to get a Betta so pygmies will be fine. Also snazy. I have kept my pygmies in temps of 82+. Woth little flow and they were less shy, more active, and were more social. So they do absolutely fine in high temps, and with little flow,

I have rehomed my mollie so hes off to a bigger tank i have 6 corys in the tank at the moment shall i increase this number?

OK. Thanks. Never mind. I never kept bettas or pygmies so I don't know what I am doing here lurking around in the wrong section.

Pygmy's are usually one of the only cories recommended to be with bettas in a tank as small as ten gallons.

Sorry Laura. It seems you are getting no reply.
If I were you I would just get another 6 of them as I am at least sure they would like bigger number than 6. It depends what you really want.

:good: And my tank will be ok with that and a betta, thanks for replying
