i have had two guppies both pregant die on me , i brought a little breeding tank and put the guppy in with a little bit of java moss when i got up in morning the guppy was floating :dunno: , but it has happened twice now can anyone throw me any ideas

Hi, :)

Daft questions but....is your breeding tank fully cycled? Is it fitted with a filter and heater?

tbr :D

no its just like a litle plastic tank with holes in the bottom, and the tank water flows through it , so i didnt think i would need a filter etc :dunno:

also, in addition to the questions above...did you acclimate the mother to the water in the breeding tank?
edit: i just read you response, i guess it is a hanng on the side tank? not a separate tank? that small enclosure can stress the fish out and that can kill them...

Sadly yet another death due to death traps.
I'd say stress is the caurse.

Not your falt though, I wish they would stop selling these things.

Wouldn't put them in them breeders it stresses them to much, causing death.

so whats te bbest way to let them breed without losing the babysto hungry sharks etc :/
to be honest, another tank. 5g or so, will be fine with an under gravel, or sponge filter.

Alway a good way to get another tank.
