On some website reviews i have seen that it comes with a heater in the filter, is that true since when i have seen it in the shops i cant find it, and if there is one can you adjust the temp

Yes Robbo the heater is in the filter box, and yes you can adjust the temp. when I first set up my Rio 180 it took a while to get the temp. right ( kept turning it down & down but got there in the end ).

Hi robbo851,

I have the rio 125 which I think is a good tank for the money. As specks says, the filter box in the corner houses the heater, pump and filter system.

The temperature has not been too bad - have only had to adjust the heater once (turned down) over the past 3 weeks, which may have something to do with the central heating kicking on in the house - here comes winter!!.

So specks - you went for the big one eh?! I was tempted but it would not quite fit where I wanted to put it.

im proberly being dense but i still cant find the tempreature gauge, how do you turn it up or down exactly

At the top of the heater (where the power cable goes in) there is a blue knob. You turn it anticlockwise for turning the temperature down or clockwise for up. You should see a + and - on the top of the heater housing (at the base of the adjustment knob).

If in doubt go to the "spare parts" section of the Juwel website and the picture they have for the heater clearly shows the blue adjustment knob.

Hope this helps.

Yes Crossey I got the 180ltr. Would have liked a bigger tank but hubby wasn't too keen on having to remove some furniture to accomadate one. My heater has been switched off all summer ( still is ) & is showing a temp of 26. It suddenly got colder today so have put heating on for the first time.
Hope you managed to get your temp right Robbo.
