Juwel Vision 180, Need A Little Help

Sorry about the picture, but I need some ideas with decorating my tank.
I currently have some live plants in and I have ordered some more from Ebay, I know the larger one on the left needs a trim, I will do that very soon and the glass needs a good clean, lol.

I want to make a very planty tank, with live plants and natural items, like wood, stones, slate etc. I would also like to cover up the horrible filter with plant life, but I dont want to block the filter.
I was thinking of putting plants along the back and around the sides, could you give me any ideas.

If you hate the filter that much, why not take it off and replace with an external?

^^ i think that might cost a little bit lol what i done was get some swords and some java fern with a few rocks around the bottom this tends to draw they eye away from the black filter

Id second Lisa, remove the Juwel Internal, thats the first thing i did with my Juwel tank

I have swords in my tank I think (not that up on plants, here is a recent pic.)



I find these plants easy to manage, and quite robust so don't get chewed easily.
Find yourself some odd pieces of bogwood and use your imagination with them, connect them in the tank, twist them untill it looks right 4 you, whatever seems to work (your peices look I am sorry to say bland and just plonked in)

Hi guineapigqueen - I also have a vision 180 and have had an idea to conceal the rather large filter. I thought I would get some black fishnet tights and cut them to cover the two exposed walls of the filter. (I havn't worked out how yet) Then I could tuck pieces of my Christmas moss into the mesh. It grows quickly and sends out graceful fronds wherever it gets a toehold and I have masses of it all the time.
I also feel why buy a jewel vision if you are going to remove the filter? Its much the largest of the internals and does a reasonable job.

Thanks for all the comments guys and gals.
I dont really have the cash to be taking out the filter and replacing it with an external at the moment.
I might move the current plants I have around a bit until I find something I am happy with, still waiting for the ones from ebay.
I have a couple of small amazon swords, one is in the bubbles and it seems to be killing it off, so a definate move around is required asap.

I have a rio 180 which i have changed the tubes on, but still have low 1.3 wpg. I have some valis, which i use to mask some things in the tank. Although recently I added some CO2 (cheap hagen kit is quick and easy) and planted some Hygrophila Polysperma (rosanerveg). My god this stuff grows before your eyes. Trim it off and it will bush out, or you can even cut it half way up where you can sometimes see a couple of external roots and plant it.. great stuff..

the filter in my rio 180 was CRAP.
but thats because i was keeping cichlids, and they need good external filteration.
for the fish you have in there ( i see a gourami so i assume tropical comunity )
should be fine =)
i like the set up too
