Hi,

I purchased a Juwel Rekord 800 back in June 2010 and recently I purchased a new Lido 120, a couple of months ago.

Now that the Lido is set up with the plants/bog wood, it seems incredibly lighter than the Rekord 800. I know the rekord is fitted with 'High-Lite Day' & 'High-Lite Nature' bulbs.

Is it possible that the lights dim over time? They haven't been changed for 14 months. Or is it that Juwel have started making their lights differently?

Thanks.

Just to add - I just went to check, and the new Lido 120 has the same lights - High-Lite Nature & Day.

Ok, time to be more specific.

Mum just told me that shes got 'hi lite nature' & 'hi lite day' but thats not strictly true to what it says on the bulb itself. Heres exactly what they say :

Rekord 800 : Day Lite 18W / Warm Lite 18W

Lido 120 : Hi-Lite Day 24W / Hi-Lite Nature 24W

Do Juwel do a selection of watts? Or is this the standard choice now?

The Rekord has T8 tubes whereas the Lido has T5 tubes, T5 tubes put out more light per Watt than T8 tubes which is why they're brighter, as well as being 12 Watt's more powerful in total, if you put any more light over the rekord you'll end up with algae problems.
