Does anyone know how your supposed to change the starters on the juwel tanks?

The lights have been a bit temperamental for the past few days and now its totally dead, one bulb is 3 weeks old and the other is about 2-3 months old so i don't think its the bulbs. The tank is 13 months old

On one end there is a round black plastic cap which has the starter in it. I believe you remove that and can replace the starter that way :)

Nope not there? The whole unit seems to be completely sealed

Yep, I've had bother with my Juwel Light unit in past> Apparently they had loads of customers light units going off at my Local Garden Centre/Aquatics and mine ended up being repaired by an electrician bloke for 30quid. However only the one tube works now (On my Vision 180)

Have now got a few spare tubes which were un-needed as it wasn't the tubes at fault (suppose they'll come in handy in future)

The guy at shop had a fair bit of business for the repair bloke, as loads of Juwel units were faulty after a few months.

suppose i may have to do that, just seen on another forum that its a common problem with the newer units.
Its sure to be cheaper than a new unit at £70 ish pound,

Yep, cheap shoddy electrics which always go wrong. When will people learn that Juwel tanks are a heap of crap.

How long is the Juwel guarantee - can't remember if it's 1 or 2 years. If you've only had the tank 13 months it might still be under waranty (if it's 2 years), so that's a possibility.

EDIT: Found this on Juwel's website:

Guarantee
We guarantee the performance of the JUWEL-Aquarium product or its accessories to the
purchaser for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase according to the

It goes on to say you have 2 weeks to report the fault to the retailer
