Is the internal 300W heater enough to heat the tank to 28c ?

Have had it in there for over 24hrs and i filled tank with water aswell as cold to 25c but the heater is not increasing it despite being on for 24hrs now. I know its alot of water to heat but surely it should have risen over 1c by now.

the juwel rio 400 tank normally comes with a 300watt heater so the one you have should be fine.

I got a 300watt in a juwel vision 450 with no probs so must be.. :good:

just come home and its still sat at between 25-26 on the thermometer strip. Looks like i'm starting my cycle again after i remove and refil with warmer water to get it to the temp i wish.

300w is a little low for a 400l tank, really you should have around 1w per litre of water, i'd go and buy a 100w visi therm and put it at the other end of the tank.

Are you sure its not the heater thats faulty ??.. i had a juwel heater that always heated two degrees below what it was set too..

Its ok i've sorted it out now the heater is fine, I didnt wanna force it and break it so didnt turn the dial pin far enough:blush: Tank is now 27.5c
