hi maybe im being thick but im looking at ( soooooon i hope!) buying a juwel rio 300 states on website volume 300 litres only when using the aquarium calculator on this forum it comes out at 382 litres or 80 odd uk gallons. now i know it comes with a built in internal filter ( which will be binned) but are they really big enough to take up 80 litres of space i know plants gravel etc will take up some but surely not 82 litres??

Dont buy a juwel, they have so many problems that i cant even be bothered to list them, just have a search for threads about juwel tank problems.

are thay really that bad? dont want to spend 425 quid on a pile os crap

Put it this way, i wouldnt even accept one as a free gift if i was offered it, the Rio 300 i bought had just about every problem possible go wrong with it.

have just read some other treads about juwel tanks. cheers for the advice think i will steer well clear of that one. can you reccomend a good 4 foot tank in the 300 litre area for that kind of price range oh by the way must be black

They cost a little bit more but i have nothing but good words to say for the Rena tanks, well made and supplied with decent quality equipment. I have also heard good things about the Aqua One tanks though i have never owned one.

am looking at rena and aquaone at the mo. trouble with aquaone is not very wide for the height of tank would look too tal and skinny

The Rena tanks are the 'Rolls Royce' of aquariums and you really are paying for quality. :good:

trouble is they are too tall and skinny. i am after something same kind of dimensions ie 121x51x62 total budget for tank with filter and co2 system is 600 quid. whats makin it so hard is must be black
