Does anyone have one of these tanks? I have a few questions about it thanks

I have the rio 125 which is basically the same apart from the size obviously.

i have heard great things about those tanks.. they also look smart!

I have a Juwel Rekord 800 which is pretty much the same tank too, just smaller.

Ask away...

hey thanks guys

just wondering how good the internal filters are that the tanks come with read really mixed reviews about them,

I'm only planning on keeping it a month or so and then taking it out and getting an external, but if they are ok i might keep it a bit longer

I can tell you quite a bit. Apparently the new tanks come with a tube of sealant to seal it in place. That's a good step in the right direction as small fish can get wedged trying to get behind it. I had some Neons wedged and the other Neons ate them alive by eating the fins of the trapped fish. There's also a hole in the top of the lid fish can jump into the filter. (don't run the filter without the lid on whatever you do)

I thought at first it was great because I live in a flat (apartment for US friends) and my thinking was that internalfilter means you will never have a flood on your hands.
Running two filters at the mo including the internal.

The only real reason people change them out is for cosmetic reasons and to have less clutter in the tank.

They're actually a good design with the top half water flow being fast and the bottom (bio) part of the filter being slow.
As long as you're sensibly stocked and don't need a major high fturn over rate for a high tec set up then the internal will do everything you need.

I had my internal in for over a year, never once had a problem with it

Hi thanks for your replies yeah I got the tank with the filter already stuck in place and tbh im thinking about taking it out already I dont think its that good I put sand in and when I put in the water I kicked up some crap out of it, had the filter running 3 days now and it hasnt touched the cloudyness.

and the filter is perfectly clean I thought it would of had some sand in it by now, I phoned up the shop I got the tank from and they say there is nothing wrong with the filter, but tbh I think its crap....

we have a second hand  juwell 240 and took the filter out it took up a lot of space but it was partly for cosmetic that side of the tank is on show and a lot of gunk was  traped between the glass and the filter. We have a external one in the cupboard below

how did you get the filter off the side of the tank? i don't fancy using a stanley knife lol thanks

a long bladed thin bread knife ,it was only held in place with blobs of silicon
