Having spent ages trying to find a tank with a dark wood stand only suitable option seems to be the juwel Rio 180 in dark wood.

Now I really dislike the big black box they call a filter! So would be looking to remove this and have seen many topics regarding the removal. But by removing it it will invalidate any warranty.

So am curious how easy it would be to fit it back on if I needed to make a warranty claim? Is it as easy as the removal or once its out is there obvious "damage" which would cause a problem?

Once you remove it you can usually clearly see where the connecting sticky clumps of what i assume is sillicon has been severed. I didn't waste any time taking mine out when i got my Rio 180. Perhaps worth ringing Juwel and enquiring about the possibility of removing the filter, see what they say. If you havn't done anything they can't penalise you, so its worth enquiring.

Although having said that i'd be surprised if you actually had to make a warranty claim with the tank. I know things can and do go wrong, but Juwel i've found to be very reliable.
