Hey :D

I've got my Juwel Rekord for sale (101x31x46cm - 120 litres). It comes complete with the matching black cabinet and a few accessories. The tank is in good condition, there are some small scratches but nothing major at all. The cabinet is in great condition. Included in the sale is the Juwel internal filter, a 600lph Juwel power head (this was upgraded from the 400lph that was supplied with the tank), 4 sponges and a new piece of Juwel filter wool to get you started. I also upgraded the T8 light in the hood to an Aqua Glo which has significantly helped the growth of my plants! The original Juwel heater is included too, plus an Elite 802 air pump. I also have a bag of gravel available which you're more than welcome to.

Please make me an offer via PM. The tank is currently running but I am transferring my decor and fish tomorrow so it will be available for collection from monday (22nd Dec).

The pics included were taken a few months ago so please excuse the poor aquascaping

lovely tank mate ,if you were nearer to me id of made a offer straight away ,good luck with your sale mate

are you upgrading? i will be selling my 120 soon, i got the bug and upgraded!!!

Hiya James, thanks very much :D It has been a fab tank but I just don't have the space or money to keep them all!

And yes Nick, I am upgrading, I bought a Rio 240 in May and it has just been sat there all this time while I tried to decide what to do. I don't have room for both so unfortunately the Rekord has to go. It's so easy to catch that bug, I started with a Rekord 70 in January and I've now got 5 flippin tanks lol - good luck with your upgrade :D

i got a rio 240, it cost me £90 inc 2 fluval 4+ filters. with the stand and everything. i know exactly what im going to do with it. it will be set up in a month or 2's time. and the rekord will have yo unfotunately go.

Damnit I live in Stockport but my oh will kill me if I bring another tank home - how could I get away with this...?

Tell him/her that's it's a Christmas present ;)

Lol, no I honestly don't know. If you manage to think of a reason though and are interested in the tank then give me a shout :) Just working on transferring stuff now - it's a back breaker! :D

Nick, that's an absolute bargain, shame they're few and far between!!! I paid £150 for mine and it had nothing with it! Although I'm very impressed with all the Juwel tanks I just love the look of the Rio's. What are you doing with yours? I have discus for mine :D

its too small imo for discus, you would need a 300 or 400 for that. i am going for a planted tank, now that i have my co2 up and running (cheers aaron! for the help). i think its going to be a hardscape with mini landscpare rock, with 2 pieces of redmoor clumped or seperate. i will have the 2 islands kind of theme with glosso at the front with posibly some PH behind with some E.tennelus behind that. then wood with anubias and java fern + JF 'narrow'. then at the back, some stems like alternanthera reineckii lilacina and rotala Rotundifolia 'green' and possibly some D.diandra. it may all change but i want that kind of layered look.

I got me an RC helicopter for Christmas so there is no way I am swinging that by her  I think I will put you out your misery and suggest putting up on ebay, maybe a bit after christmas?

BTW have you been to PAH stockport yet? They have revamped the fish section and it is quite impressive

By PAH I think he means pets at home.

yes that is what he is saying, by never heard of it, he means never heard of their being a PAH in that area. he basically wants to know where it is.

Over the roundabout at the pyramid toward Didsbury and PAH is on your left along with Staples.

A Rio 240 will be fine for discus. At least half a dozen or so adults. Obviously when they pair up they will need managing then. But you definately don't need a 300 or 400 litre tank to keep them succesfully. Looking forward to seeing the pics Jo. :)

well i disagree, discuss need 15 - 20G. and on that basis you would get 4 in at a squeeze but it would be a squeeze. plus, the tank is not quite big enough to have ample hiding places such as plants reaching the surface and large pieces off root wood etc. plus discuss not only look better in groups of 6 they are also more comfortable as they they are amoungst 'themselves' and therefore they dont become so easily spooked. they will also settle in quicker and as a result the colours will be better as they will be happier. look at petertr's tank. thats a rio 300 and that is very nice. he only has 5 discuss in that tank, so i certainly wouldnt put 6 in a rio 240. and you say 'at least half a dozen!!' so that implies more. i suggest you do some research into the fish, especially if you are keeping them.
