HI :),

I've been looking for a while for a new tank to upgrade my 2 fancy goldfish and found the Juwel Lido 100 cube on ebay for £40 and im wondering if this is a suitable tank for the fish??

thanks :)

It's a nice idea, and the volume's alright but it's really not a suitable shape for goldies, I'm afraid.

If your fish grow near full size, they'll have only about twice their own body length to swim in, in any direction, which really isn't fair on them :/

It's great you're getting something bigger for them, but that's not the right one, unfortunately.

Unfortunatly one of those people who have been told that a small tank can hold them fine till they just get too big. any idea's on a type of tank that would be suitable for them ? struggling to find them something at a price i can afford :(

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that; it happens to a lot of people, so don't blame yourself!

I would look for a Clearseal 36x12x15". They come up quite often, second hand, and are a good sized tank for two goldies.

Best of luck with finding something. In the meantime, do plenty of water changes on your smaller tank, and that'll keep the worst of the problems of being in a small tank at bay, and will keep your fish healthy until you find something for them :good:

Thanks will definatly have a look now :) they seem ok in themselves i do a water change as soon as i notice any problems such as them darting around the tank + change it about once a week anyway the reason for a quick upgrade is that they seem to be fighting (chasing each other around the tank + a bit of nipping ) :(

Sorry to ask again but just wondering if this tank would be appropriate for 2 fancies :

Havent got the room for that unfortunatly, think im going to have to go for the one in the link and upgrade later as im still living at home and the fish are in my room with no hope of moving them anywhere else as we also have 2 birds. hopefully because they are still so small they will be ok in it for a while till im able to get more room.

thanks for all the help :) been great at helping me see the type of tank they require, if im unable to provide that before they start hurting each other then they will have to be taken to a very good local petshop which is very trust worthy and give brilliant advice (not the shop i brought them from thankfully) :) x
