hi everyone.

I bought a juwel vision 180 and have removed the internal filter. However i am still using the heater but having problems getting the temp above 26.5.

Is anyone having problems with juwel heaters? it is 200w and the tank is 180 litres (40 uk gal).

Do you think i should get a new one?

Thanks

Martyn

I have had a juwel reckford and a now a juwel 260 vision.both heaters have been fine and have had to only be on a low setting to maintain temps of 24-26.
If it is new I would take ask for a replacement as they do have a 12month guarantee.

i've turned the dial so it's facing the + icon. the tank is struggling to reach 27.

My house isn't cold - the warm weather has not effected it at all. I'm gonna but a new one.

I had problems with mine not reaching the dial temp but read the instructions that said how to reset it. For mine it goes something like this:

Setup and measure temp
Turn off
Pull out top plug/knob as far as it will go
set dial to temp reading
push knob back in
turn back on

I fond by doing this I could get the temperature as stated on the dial, but I think I had to do it twice. Not sure if it will help but worth a go.

By the way I was in the middle of a fishless cycle so temperature was not an issue!

Juwel Heaters are crap tbh, if you have removed the filter box invest in a decent quality heater and replace the Juwel one.

Well, I've had mine for 9 years now, never had a problem attaining, or maintaining a desired temperature.

I guess, they are crap when they fail on you, good when they don't.
