Juwel Filter Help Needed Plz Pretty Plz

i have tried to get this filter working once before and it wasnt having any of it ill try to describe the problem as best i can but if i miss anything just ask

got it with a tank ages ago so its hardly new but need one at the moment


inside the power head there are just 2 parts, the yellow wheel bit and the magnetic driver thing ( am i missin anything)

when the power head goes into water it blows for a second or 2 then water stops flowing, even tho everything is still spinning ( can hear and feel it )

if i lift the head out it stops then submerse it again it will blow water again for a second or 2 and then again it gives up....

any ideas??

Could be a bust impeller. There are known issues with the pumps released between 18 and 6 months ago when they were producing them in China, with pretty much everything going wrong on them. If you can get a new pump, that would definitely fix it, but before you do that, keep trying to get photo's up of each part in there

yup i think youve hit the nail on the head dave.. looking at it now its quite obvious ( now that you said it) its missing a part ( the cog type piece on the magnetic part) this bit ( blue)

only problem is that i have no idea what size the filter is, it came with a 90l ( not rio but the style with a raised hood) but looked more at home in my 180 whilst being tested

spose theres not much i can do

New impeller is all that's needed if the blue bit is separate to the magnet. If it is off a 90l tank, it will be a pump set 600 I think. Check at the LFS, they may actually have a better idea than members on here for a change Should be an £11.99 or there abouts repair

if the impeller is pumping water, it may be that the pump head just needs stripping down and cleaning out.(its very easy to do). a point to note is that the design changed slightly a couple of years back. so make sure you know what you are looking for before you buy spares.
