Juwel Compact H Filter

Hi All,

I'm new to all this my first tank has just arrived after a bit of reserch into if fish keeping was for me.

Its a Juwel Rio 180L with a beech wood cabinet and has there own Compact H internal filter and heater.

My question is that the instruction manual says that I will not need any kind of air stone in the tank as the filter will do this instead.
Is this true as everyone elses tanks seem to need an air stone I always assumed (maybe wrongly) that you have to have one?

Hi mate, air stones are generally for decoration. It not very often i see a tank running one on pictures on here. I think its mainly down to personal preference.

I too have a Juwel tank and don't have an air stone. I have upgrade the pump to the 1000lph one and its aimed towards the surface to create lots of movement, but to be honest the orginal pump did just a good of a job.

I have 3 Juwel tanks and have no air Pumps. As said they are for decoration mostly. I did read somewhere only this month that added a air pump to a Juwel voids the warrenty(Made me laugh as its crazy but hey its their warrenty)

Thats what I read somewhere and it confussed me slightly.
