Has anyone ever heard of problems with using airstones in these tanks?, the reason im asking is that i use to run an airstone in mine and because there is no condinsation trap in these tanks the bubbles that pop on the surface run down the inside of the lid and down the front of the tank thus soaking the stand and the floor the LFS says this is the case with these tanks i dont understand this as they are meant to be the creme da la creme of fish tanks (where i come from anywhy). and i find it strange that this is stipid problem with a very expensive tank . Any thoughts? or views

cant see there being any problem with using an airstone. The covers rest inside the lid so I don't see how water could run out -_- .

as for

the creme da la creme of fish tanks

I'd say there a great tank and good value for money but only good for community tanks/planted tanks. the filter isn't the most powerfull of filters. A good idea if you keep messy fish or a lot of them, is to do what a lot of people do and back up with an external.

never ever had this problem with any of my juwel tanks... ?? how high are you filling them ??? shouldn't be splashing over the sides etc. I use lots of airstones in all my juwels with no probs.

You dont have the airstone near a side of the tank do you? My tank has a juwel type cover and that caused me an issue till I moved the airstone nearer the centre.

There is a water fill mark on the side of the tank a sticker type thing with a red line, i fill it just below the line, yes the air stone was at the left hand side of the tank against the glass didnt notice anything for a weak or two then noticed the stand and floor was a bit wet, to tell you the truth i near #### as i thought the tank was leaking, but later discovered it was the airstone and the water from the bubbles running down the inside of the lid and down the outside of glass.

Juwel supply a small valve and air tube gizmo that fits onto the powerhead so all you have to do is twist the valve to determine the amount of bubbles. Its neat, its easy and can be used whenever required in a few secinds :)

I have this problem too! Except it happens even if there isn't an air stone.

I find that the condensation runs down the inside of the lid, soaks the backing to the tank, making it look rubbish, and recently it's seeped in to the ####ty chip-board that the stand is made of and made it warp on one side.

I too thought my tank was leaking. I was so angry! The tank isn't 12 months old and I've had to have the powerhead replaced already.

I like Juwel tanks - they're neat and tidy, easy to maintain and cost effective, but I also think they're a bit cheap and nasty at times. AND they're an odd size so you cant change the lid.

i have 4 juwel tanks and in 2 of them i have airstones with no probs, and i have the air venturi valve on 3 of them.
