Juwel 180 curved tank

Hi, I bought a juwel 180 curved tank, I am just wondering if the built in filter is upto the job (definately big enough). Also it seems slightly loud, I am thinking of getting an external filter, can anyone recommend a really quiet decent external filter

I have just got an Ehime classic 2213. It is extreamly quiet and will be more than sufficiant for your juwel.

i have a juwel 180 (but not the curved front), its been running now for about 10 months with the built in filter and not had any problem.

it was a little noisey but i moved the heater slightly as it vibtating a little, once it was moved the tank actually runs quieter than my juwel 350 which has an external filter.

Thanks I have ordered my Eheim filter, problem is my tank is near my bed so at night it sounds louder than normal. My plan is to put some sound proofing in the cabinet to try and eliminate as mush noise as possible with the external filter. Also do you think it would be a good idea to connect the inlet (suction pipe) of the external filter to the internal filter, Where the power head for the internal filter would normally be. That way the water would be filtered by the sponge of the internal filter before it hits the external filter then be double filtered. Or would this just be a bad idea

noisy powerheads is allways something wrong with the impeler .replace that and save your dosh ...tadah
