i was wondering if you can keep female bettas with a rtbs, 5-10barbs, 3otos and 1 guppie in a 55 gal?

i am not planning that but you never know my plans for my tank may change once i see what's at the shop!!

my lfs just started stocking female bettas. they have a huge tank with more than 50 females in it. they are young so you really can't tell what type they are but if they can't go in my 55 gal i just may have to save up for a new tank to try my luck with females. i currently have 2 males in separate bowls (2 gal each) one is a magnificent blue crowntail ( i never realized it was a crown tail until it recovered form a case of finrot. and the other is red and blue. it's not a crown tail his tail is rather plain i'm not entirely sure what kind he is but i love him anyway.

i'm trying to post a pic of my 55 gal but i'm not sure it will work!!

not the best pic but i took it with my palm pilot so it's not too bad. i couldn't get a pic of my male bettas because there is not enough light right now

If I remember correctly, barbs are fin nippers, so that's a no-go with bettas. However, I know for a fact that you can't put bettas with guppies, as they have long fins, and bettas will think it's another betta and try to kill it.

Barbs are no-nos, because they nip. Guppies sometimes work with female Bettas, but it really depends on the female. One of my females really liked the Guppies, and lived peacefully with them until I had to pull her out because a Molly was picking on her. Another female was in the tank less than three seconds before reaching over and performing a tail-ectomy on my male Guppy.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But barbs are a major no-no.

Otos are usually fine tank mates for Bettas. I put some in with my female Bettas, and they had 6 little female Betta noses glued to them for HOURS. No nipping at al...just curious girls.

I don't know what an rtbs is.
