yep. i'm not an active member, FF is my fallback in case i can't answer my own fish questions, or find a book to do so.

but, can female Bettas get along with feeder guppies?

i only have one flashy fish in the tank, but i figure with all that space and stuff it won't matter. i'd rather ask for the majority; would the females also attack the fancy female, or the feeder males?

thanks!

alright, thanks very much.

i guess i'll hold off on the females and try to get a second male.

i have the sudden urge to buy Candy Combo tanks...

I've kept a lone female in with my female guppies, who had rather large tails, and the betta never bothered them, though I never tried her with males. As a matter of fact, the guppies had a habit of shoving the betta out of the way when I fed them.... I think it really has to do with the personality of each fish.

I know I am new to this & probably know nothing.

However I have 1Male guppy, 2Females & a Male Betta

They have lived happily together in tank for nearly 2 weeks.

I think it depends on personality, I am learning this fast as I have just had to deal with a rather aggresive Danio who thought he could take on anyone!

Yep, it depends very much on personalities. I once had a male who killed a female, but when the temporary breeder trap fell over and released the other male, they ignored each other completely.

I think I'll just keep Bettas out of my Guppy tank; I like Pickle too much to lose his fancy orange tail.
