evening all set up my co2 over the weekend now my large angel and one one black widow tetras are at the surface breathing iv taken out my air pump so is no bubbles is this an issue ??

as i was under the impression that air bubbles would drive the co2 out of the water quicker ??

Air bubbles will drive off the CO2, but the breathing of your fish is way more important at this point. Put the air pump back on for the sake of your fish and back off with the CO2 because you obviously have too much in there.

Once your fish are happy again turn off the air pump and watch them closely. Back off the CO2 more, if required. You really need to be adding CO2 in a more controlled manner and measuring it.

Dave.

right added my air stone over nite with the smallest of a bubble trickle and all seems well this morning  i also moved my co2 from bottom bit of the ladder to the second slot.

what i was wondering was is it possible to keep my air pump in if i use a ladder like my co2 :shifty:

Right had a think what about if i put a little hole in the inlet strainer of my eheim filter and attach my air pump to it would that put more oxygen in ????

Or would it just damage to the filter

I am a little confused as to the purpose of the airstone. What are you using it for?

Secondly, putting large air bubbles straight through your filter will damage the impeller.

i only used the air stone as 2 of my fish were gaspin at the surface so i put the air stone back in for 1 nite and took it out the next morning and all seems well now :good:

You said You really need to be adding CO2 in a more controlled manner and measuring it how can i do this ? im using nutrafin with the diy mix off of here
