Just Starting Out......

Nope, I have a refractometer as I bought into all the "you must have a reractometer" when I started out in SW. Further reading of more experienced people indicates that education on how to use and calibrate the tool is more important than the tool itself (at least at the sort of quality we can afford).

will a FOWLR tank need alot of water movement ?

will one powerhead be okay for a while turning the tank over about 7times an hour ?

ok - where can you buy hydrometers that are just as good as refractometers? Or are the 'normal' ones just as good? (the £10-£15 ones)
Not entirely sure. Fire a PM to nmonks about it. He knows more than I do on the subject.

hey andy I had a look on reefcentral - apparently the $50 hydros are better than the equivalent refractometers but the problem I'm finding is where can you buy the more expensive hydrometers?

good, i spent 65 dollars on it and i dont want to hear that it is bad
