I'm not familiar with that testing kit. Re-read the instructions and try again, see what results you get. Most test kits are very specific and everything needs to be done as so.

I thought that, i tried reading it again and retesting today. Will try again tomorrow and see how it goes again lol. Thanks for the replies.

Left the tank a few days and will test tomorrow i think, the tank it definately showing a lot more algae now and diatoms on the sand bed. Been getting a few new bits and bobs these include a refractometer and 'THE BOOK'. My free bumblebee appeared today for the first time in 2 weeks! looking good and amazing he has survived the cycle. Need to get some cuc in there soon to help him lol. Whats your guys thoughts on boxer shrimps for my 550, do they get to big, are they safe with other cuc? As always thanks for the help!

Coral Banded Shrimp can be quite the aggressive little guys. Wouldn't trust them with smaller inverts (especially smaller shrimp) or with small fish. They'll also fight with their own kind.
