I rinsed my sand until I had cuts on all of my knuckles. It still clouded the tank. It took about 12-18 hours to clear. Just give it time. You'll wake up one morning and scream, "The tank is clear!"
I know, that's what I paid too. I can't imagine doing a big, 75 gallon or larger tank with this stuff though. It would take forever to clean.
It does look good & natural, now I'm afraid to disturb the bottom at all. I plan to move my son's Black Kuhli Loach to this tank & I wanted to add 3 of the Striped Kuhlis I saw at a local shop. I'm afraid they'll kick this stuff up to much...............
I'm going to get a new heater & some filter wool/floss on my way home from work & hopefully that clears the rest up.
I was going to start cleaning it today, maybe I will just do a small amount and see if its worth the effort for the big tank. I don't know what my other options would be though since its too expensive to buy other substrates. It looks really good in your tank thought Hope it stays on the bottom where it's supposed to
I have B&Q kiln-dried sand in my tank, and the most recent one I put it in I just stuck it in a bucket in the bath and ran the shower horse through it for about half an hour. Settled perfectly first time
