Just Setting Up A Nano And A Few Silly Questions.

Hi Im just setting up my orca tl450 and i am wanting a few answers to a few questions.

1)In the back i am going to use Lr rubble but when do I put that in the back compartment. Do I put it in first or do I run it for a few days and then put it in.

2)When do I put LR in the tank



I have bought salted R.O water from LFS so im all ready to go.

Once your salt water is in and at the right temp you can add all your LR (and rubble) don't worry about leaving the system to run without rock, it's pretty pointless.

I am thinking 4 hermit crabs, 4 snails which variety i am a bit unsure 1 peppermint shrimp possibly 2, Maybe a pair of percula tank bred clown fish and a goby or something along those lines. but obviously i will do it all slowly and take my time.

Sounds good, much idea regarding coral? Softies are the easiest for beginners.

Um yea i was going to start with an xenia or a lovely mushroom.

I had a lovely toadstool for my first coral, sadly it died a while ago. Look in the coral and inverts section as there are loads if pictures of corals. You may spot a few more that yu like.

ps tank is a little small for a pair of clowns, why not think outside the box, so to speak and go with a pair of something else?

I like Toadstalls the best of all Softies!! You can get really cool fingers but you have o be patient!! Depends What you like tho!! I don't like the normal browny coloured fingers, the purple and pinky ones are where it's at!! Lol.

How about some ric mushys? Or zoas!!

Na xbox all the way . What other pairs can I get that would be colourful and lively. And I prefer the corals the are as vibrant as possible. I will take a few photos and attempt to start a journal fingers crossed.

Yum as i was starting the siphon I got a tasty mouthful of salty water

Cardinals (I like pyjamas) will pair up (ignore seffies soon to come rant about cardinals) they will also be fine in that size tank.
