I have just rehomed this betta and his friend a dalmation molly im having a read on them now but wondered if anyone has any advice ive got him in a 8-9ish gallon arcadia arc tank with a 50 watt heater set at 26 a fluval 1 filter and a 11w arc pod light is this all ok? ive got a couple mollys in my main tank so i know how to care for the molly ive left him with the betta as they seem to get along really well.

The fluval 1 is fully cycled and there both doing fine investigating everywhere and what not im just worried about feeding ive read they eat pellets and all i have is.. KB flake, algea wafers, algea pellets and frozen bloodworm at the minute and some cucumber and peas would it eat any of this?

Heres a picture of it could anyone sex it by this photo? and can anyone tell me what breed/type it is please?

Thanks

That's a lovely male veiltail you have there. Good tank size too. All sounds like a fine setup. He should be fine with the molly if they are getting on well. But keep an eye on them just in case they do start to pick at eachother.

Flake crushed up a little is ok , and the bloodworm should be fed once a week only, and in a small amount of 2-4 worms only ( they can bloat very easily ) These foods will be just fine until you can get some pellets.:good:

They prefer hard water from what I've read on the forums, freshwater is fine (in regards to the molly).

This betta is up for rehoming im from the notts area.

To a good home only with a proper setup for him.

Ive bought a new tank for my cory fry now so he can stay.

Ive just bought some bio gold food for him how many of these pellets should i feed him a day? ive just soaked 5 in his tank water in a cup for a few mins and gave him those he ate them straight away.

I think it's generally recommended to only feed 2-3 pellets each day (sometimes twice per day I've seen), with a starve day and a bloodworm day as a treat :)

It's a good food though :)
