How come rainbowfish are in the oddballs section of the fish index, and then in the forum description of characins, cyprinids and athernids it says that ranibowfish topics should go in there (therefore presumably not the oddballs forum)?

Does this need to be changed or is there a reasonable explanation?

I noticed that and meant to comment on it a few times...

that is strange... mine reads "For all the weird and wacky species of the fish world" and has for at least a week (but probably longer)

perhaps you need to refresh your cache? :dunno:

Yes, there is nothing wrong with the oddball section itself, it's just if you look in the oddball fish index then you will find rainbowfish in there, however in the cyprinids, characins and athernids section of the main board the description says:

"All barb, tetra, loach, silver dollar and rainbow fish questions should go in here!"

However the profiles of rainbowfish are in the oddball index, not the c.c.a one.

It's confusing to explain

The reason for the rainbow fish being under CC&A on the main forum but in the oddballs section for the index is that they were considered to be more similar to tetras and barbs etc in being classic "fish shaped" fish than oddballs so were better being discussed in the same forum but are not a large enough group of fishes to warrent their own section in the index so got lumped in the "catch everything that isnt already listed" oddballs section.

Ah I see, thanks for clearing that up cfc, I guess topics on rainbowfish are better off being discussed in the CC&A section :good:
