Just One Problem

Everythings running very nicely except the water clarity problem, I have the Vortech about 6" below the surface and I have no substrate in the tank at the moment but the amount of general detritus is ridiculous. Im running an Eheim 3000 return pump, theres a filter sock on the standpipes, theres a decent movement over the weir and no surface muck, skimmers pulling stuff out and skimmer outlet has filter floss over it. What else can I do to get rid of it or do you think it will improve when the sand goes in? I know the Goby stirs up quite a bit but sure it's not all him.

You can try some carbon if you aren't running some already.

I am running some but it was inherited so may be useless or a cheap brand. That was one thing I had forgotten about tbh, it hadn't crossed my mind despite there being a 5ft Malawi tank with a seperate internal U4 filter that I run with floss and carbon just for water polishing about 20 feet away from me, it's not even on my marine maintenance schedule.....Doh!
