Hey guys, I JUST now finished setting up my 55gal, and everything is looking good (Taihitian Moons Sand, and a Black Background... :) ). No fish until it's cycled, but it still looks good empty :D Here are some pictures I jjust snapped off (forgive the bad photography):

Room Light Off

Room Light On

I put a 16" "Bubble Wall" behind my castle, I think it turned out rather nice...

Shot of the ($1 per pound!!) Taihitian Moon Sand...

The Moons Sand again (pictures don't do this stuff justice)...

Well, there's the tank so far...you guys like it? Any suggestions? I know I ned to rake out the sand, and get a a couple more plants and some bogwood and a few rocks, etc. After that, is there anything I should change?

Oh, and one more thing, how can I hide air hose? I have one piece of hose inparticular that shows REALLY bad here's a pic:

In case you couldn't tell its runnin gto an air stone behind the plant...this is really bugging me, anyone know how I could hide it a little?

I would appreciate some feedback--

Thanks,

-Logan

That looks lovely - I was following your post in the TMS and it looks fab set up. Especially like the bubble curtain. I've often wondered what the TMS was like myself - just can't drag myself away from sand tho! :p

Nice set-up! The only way I've found to hide air-lines, is to either put a tall rock/piece of wood in front or a tall plant. You probably notice it more than anyone else though.

It's a nice tank. :) To hide the airhose, I would suggest trying to get it lined up in the back corner of the tank. Siliconning it in place would work best but isn't practical. Perhaps a tall plant to obscure it instead?

I try to run airhoses down the corners, suction cupped in place. I find the vertical line of the hose along the vertical line of the corner join isn't so obtrusive. You could then run it under the sand to the airstone/bubblewall. Also if you're running 2 hoses, you can put the splitter in the tank, so you only have one hose running down the glass, then hide the splitter under a rock or something, and run the air hoses under the sand.
