Ok, I got a puffer and I got about a dozen feeder guppies for him to eat. Well, last one one of the feeder guppies gave birth. Yes a FEEDER guppy gave birth when I was busting my butt to get my fancy guppies(R.I.P. for no perticular reason at all, they just can't live in my tanks while every other fish in teh world can!) to have at least one batch, but no, they wouldn't. So now a not so very important feeder guppy gives birth! I give up completely on guppies!

I don't know if this is good or bad news for you but I'm not really quite certain where I come in. Do you think I've got a think about guppies or something? ;)

No becuase a while back we were talking about how we didn't have any luck with guppies, how they all have leathle genes and they all die. Just a little joke that I did everything i could to get my very expenxsive, high quality fancy guppies to have a batch of fry, and now my feeder guppies, I don't even feed them since they get eaten right away have babies. You can read were we were talking about that here:

Oh right... So what you're saying is, your feeder guppy proved our point, that fancy guppies are a bit feeble when it comes to breeding?

Yes, and that if I don't even try to get fish to breed they will. But when I try very hard to get fish to breed they don't! Just my luck,

Hey Ron,something to think about.........Fancy guppies are usually more delicate than regular feeders. They requiere better water and temperature conditions and more balanced diet, meaning a mix of flakes and live and or frozen food.

Also when you mention "fancy guppy"What do you mean by it?The type you find at your local pet store it's not really that fancy or at least they are not of the best quality.Remember,a breeder seldon wants to get rid of their precious gups. The ones you find at LFS are the ones that don't meet his/hers standards of quality or they are simply old good looking fish.Meaning not being able to have babies anymore.Remember,$3. or $5. a pair could not be of such great quality, and nobody could guarantee you that the females are fertile.

To get the best fish you gotta to places where they auction fish. There you could e-mail the breeders and probably even get babies only a few weeks old.Thats exactly what I did.Had my babies they grew and now I have a lot of babies swimming around my 90gall tank.
