hi just measured me tank today and the measurements are 24" L 12" W and 15" H which by the calculator is round 13 gal not sure wot this is UK but im not sure if im overstocked, i am getting another tank later today which is 3ft,

the current tank i have quite well planted recently added cabomba aswell, which they love, and i have fluval 1 filter/pump which i changed last week but last couple days i noticed my long tail danio has couple small splits in his tail, which i think may b the serpai.

my fish are these

3 black widows, (2 young 1 adult)
4 danios (2 young 2 adult)
3 glass cats (bout full grown)
1 sucking loach (full grown never gets any hassle)
and 5 serpai (2 adult 3 young)

only recently i noticed possible fin nipping (LFS had sticker on tank saying community) they will b upgraded as soon as new tanks ready which be couple days, but werent sure if its cos im overstocked or i just got wrong community mix?????? compared to some ppl here i dont think im that overstocked maybe borderline but wanna make sure cheers peeps

I think your tank is a 70 ltrs= 19 US gallons.

Are you sure the glass cats and the sucking loach are really fully grown? that would mean at least 4 inches for the cats and 10 inches for the CAE. Which would make you overstocked. Serpae are well known fin nippers, and CAE's can develop a taste for sucking the slime coat of other fish (look out for your glass cats as they are slow-moving).

Correct - that's 19US gallons - not 13.
What sucking loach do you have ? If it's a Chinese Algae Eater they can grow up to 10 " -_- so are you sure what you have is mature ?

its a 15 imperial gallon tank and with about 2" substrate, 13 imperial gallons.

regarding the loach i never seen a 10" one didnt know they grew that big, so no its not fully grown. and me cats arent yet 4" either so im ok but they will be going into my new 22.6gal well planted tank soon when its ready, i got it today yay pearl 80 bow front with white gravel looks cool

I wouldn't trust tank calculators because when I type mine tank into one it always says my tank is 50 gallons. So i don't think that they are accurate.

there was one i found a short while ago that did US and imperial calculations and I checked the programming on it was correct. if i find it again, i'll post it and link it in my sig.

They're simple calculators, if the result end is incorrect across many different sites with them on, the most obvious solution is that you are making an error with what you are inputting.

regards the CAE loach how long do they live and how long do they take to get full size?????? cos mine seems to grow extremely slowly

I had one for approx 6 years once and it only really got up to full size once he went into a tropical pond. But he could have lived longer I'm not sure - we moved house and that was the last I saw of him.

My current CAE grows extremely slowly as well. It's in a 47.5 gallon tank and in the past 3 years it's only grown up to about 3".

ok cool i havent seem him since he went into the new tank i have clown loach hes doing fine as are my other fish and i havent noticed anymore fin nipping its a 22.6 gal UK i have the fish that are in my siggy, and im thinking of adding some khulies and corys khulies im really set on and they dont seem to take up much room would a few of each b ok or with current stock should i just get one or the other????????? also being bigger me tank looks bit empty now although i b adding to existing stock so the other shoals are upto bout 5 (black widows n glass cats, plus couple more danios)
