just got me cardinals

just got me 6 cardinals from the LFS a few hours ago and one of em doesn't look healthy after the trip cardinals are a bit sensitive to things like this ? am i correct ?

You are. A lot of peple have trouble transporting and establishing Cardinals. Turn the lights off and try to keep things really quiet for a day or so.

So with that being said...if one were in the process of setting up a planted tank after a proper cycle would it be wise to add the cardinals first before adding any larger fish ??

Lateral one of the cardinals is starting to pale up and is not schooling with the other fish .... what can i do to help it ? i dunno if it has an infection or what, and am i correct with the fact that the cardinals will not tolerate malachite ? or is it the corys? or the ottos ? or the shrimps ? got em all mixed up poor fish, i feel sorry for the fish starting to turn pale and berathing heavily its night time already here so i should just turn off all the lights for the whole day tom ??

I would leave the lights off, yes. There is no reason to suspect Malachite Green would help. Cardinals are notorious when it comes to troubles moving them. There probably isn't really anything you can do other then keep the stress levels as low as possible for a few days.

I don't think it is a good idea to add Cardinals to a newly cycled tank. They are very sensitive to nitrogen spikes. Newly cycled tanks are rarely stable and can throw small spikes for weeks after the fish are added as the bioloical filter adjusts to the new bio load.

akkk another cardinal has developed signs of fading color, the other one died already, what are the steps needed to keep stress level downs ? im going to cover the sides of the aquarium later so the tank would be really dark and the fish wont get startled when people pass by... is this a right step ? oh my
