Just Bought A New 2 Foot Tank

you stick rock in sand, nothing changes..... Feel free to spend all your money on marine tanks lol, money doesnt mean anything, to me at least, we are in the 21st century AD, not ancient greece or rome....

first you get the money, then you get the power. (cant remeber rest of scarface quote)

money these days means you can buy alll the best stuff its no different to ancient time instead of buying the best shields and armour you can buy big tanks and skimemrs etc !

Yeah sorry robris for going off topic but it annoys me when people are just full of it.

But it sounds like you got a plan.

Good Luck!

Robin

Yes you can buy more stuff, but then what? What does that mean? That shows wealth, it doesnt show anything else. It did in many places, now, not much.

I mean, look at paris hilton.....

very mature coming from someone who uses age to judge someone.

thanks for the replys guys, I have asked my lfs about a sump and they have quoted me about $400 AUD to build one for me including all the plumbing drilling, pump and media. I think Im going to do that.

Anyways, once I have added the LR, substrate and water, do I leave the tank running for about 4 weeks and then add the live stock? How is the tank cycling if there is nothing producing ammonia?

thats whre you have got to becareful. add livestock once all of your readings are fine. ammonia may be alittle off. then add a CUC (clean up crew) which is basicaly invertebrates such as turbo snails shrimps hermit crabs ect. dont add too many though as they are herbivores there will need to be som sort of algea. i had a ;lovely shrimp who used to clean my clownfish and he loved brine shrimp.anyway good luck

400 AUD, it better be a big sump with good baffles and an external pump..... I would just ask them to drill it for you and you make the rest for yourself....

No one going to mention RO water? Anyways, cycling is somthing that each person will have a different view on, talking to andy yesterday I found out that adding fish straight after cured LR is fine :) and that waiting around for weeks to watch nothing happen isnt needed. Again, all different opinions.

Judging somone by there age, is stupid. Im 18 and respect a 14yr olds opinion just as much provided they have the experience and logic.

Back on topic.
