Just Added 4 Glass Catfish To My Tank

But we tested the water they were in and got suprisin results.

Ammonia - 0.25 - 0.50 ppm
Nitrite - 0 ppm
Nitrate - 80 - 160 ppm

Is this a common thing because of how stocked the tanks are?

Just suprised theres no Nitrites tbh.

How long were they in the bag? Fish are constantly pumping out ammonia from their gills so if they're being well fed in the shop you bought them from then there is nothing to say that's not just the ammonia that has built up in the time it took you to get from the shop to home.

However the high nitrates is probably just an indicator of how stocked the tanks are at the shop.

Ahh ok thanks for the reply. The fish were in the bag about 50 mins total with aclimatisin etc. They seem ok atm, v cool fish too.
