Well, hello, My name is Paul and I'm an alcoho..... oops! Wrong forum, sorry
Anyway, I have just purchased my first aquarium on Sunday (for the kids if the wife asks ) I bought the Interpret Fish Box 64 which has the heater and a PF2 filter. I did the usual steps to fill up , wash the gravel and ornaments before putting in etc. Once filled up I started the filter and heater then added the Tapsafe and Filter Start as per instructions and the water was a tad cloudy this morning 36 hours after but reading around on here that seems normal. Although, it seems you all think the Filter Start and similar aren't much use?
I had planned on putting fish in the tank this weekend but luckily I am a bit of a geek on the internet when it comes to researching new things to me and stumbled here where it appears that a fishless cycle is the way to go. Thanks guys and gals Now all I have to do is convince the kids that it's a good idea to have a fish tank without any fish for a couple of weeks
I have ordered some extra bits and bobs last night: a net, gravel cleaner, extra foam pads for the filter, Interpret Master Tester Kit & algae scraper.
Obviously I'm not going to add fish yet but will just ask if there is anything else I am likely to need or anything else I need to do, other than start the cycle.
Thnaks in advance
