Jungle fungus clear or lifeguard for Betta with finrot and fungus

Hey. So my Betta got stuck in his filter AGAIN a few months ago and really messed up his fins. (I’ve now changed his tank so it doesn’t happen again). It’s been an endless battle trying to get the finrot under control from it. Was changing half the water every couple of days and gave hikari Betta revive and salt and eventually the rot seemed to stop. It’s still really stubborn and I have only seen very small signs of new growth but recently (a few days ago) I also noticed some small white cotton fuzzy ballish spots on him. I’m thinking it’s fungus and was going to try get some lifeguard or jungle fungus clear as apparently it helps with finrot too.
Out of the 2 which do you think is better?

More live plants would definitely help reduce his stress.

It's a bit hard to tell from the pictures but it doesn't look like fungus. Common aquarium fungus gets into open wounds so unless the fish has been injured, it is unlikely to develop a Saprolegnia fungal infection.

The fish looks like it is suffering from malnutrition and this could be caused by poor diet, intestinal worms or gill flukes. Poor water quality can cause fish to lose condition too and is the most common cause for fin rot.

What sort of filter is on/ in the tank?
How often and how do you clean the filter?

Big daily water changes, gravel cleaning and salt will usually treat fin rot and fungus. Use 1 heaped tablespoon of rock salt (aquarium salt) for every 20 litres of water. If there's no improvement after 48 hours, increase it to a total of 2 heaped tablespoons of salt per 20 litres of water.

Don't replace filter media/ materials unless they are falling apart. If you have to replace media, use a sponge from another brand of filter. AquaClear do good sponges and you simply cut them to fit with a pair of scissors.

Yup for a span of a couple of weeks I had him in just an empty tank with some salt and changed half the water every other day. Unfortunately didn’t do too much. Haven’t got any test strips with me right now but when he got injured the parameters in the old tank were an abomination I suspect because I wasn’t there for water changes and with the lights being on very inconsistently for really long times some plants died while I was gone and rotted and stuff because been in n out of hospital like crazy.
Current tank he’s in was cycled for a week and he’s been in there about a week from then. So it is relatively new and parms probs aren’t too stable but Also been doing 1/3 water changes every other day in this one so that should be helping a bit.
Yes it is a crystal. XD. The points aren’t actually aren’t sharp so should be fine with the fish. Waiting for an Amazon sword to get in stock for that tank.

Really? Shame I tried to get a better pic. but he keeps moving and my phone is trash. Any idea what it could be then. Because the spots are new but they are fluffy and I don’t remember ich being fluffy.
What are signs of malnutrition? The guy eats like a beast. Gets 3-4 flakes twice a day. Omega one brand too. With blood worms here and there.
Maybe I should stick some poop under the microscope?
His previous tank I won’t deny I reckon the parameters were bad as I was in n out of hospital endlessly for a couple months and with the lights on n off for extended times and just me not being there in general for water changes and dead plant removal there was lots of decay so that combined with him getting stuck in filter it was a mess.
I used salt at the dosage of the first one for about a week or so and I didn’t notice much difference. Although with all the salt and Betta revive the rot has quit progressing I noticed but there hasn’t been much tail regrowth at all.

Ah. Some crystals do indeed mess with water but quartz doesnt luckily.
