Just a few words of warning...

I was doing a water change tonight and had the tank lid off. Next thing I heard a splash and realised one of my lemon tetras had jumped out and gone down the back of the tank and cabinet.

My girlfriend retrieved it and put it back in the tank, I assumed it would be dead.

It remained almost motionless for several minutes before starting to swim about, and has now rejoined the shoal.

The only visible injury seems to be a tiny nick in the tail.

I hope it will be ok, I realise it must be very stressed as it has had the fright of it's life. Any thoughts on its chances?

Billy the Fish -_-

It should be ok, mine have done it, with no ill affects aferwards, depends on how long they were out of the tank, but if it was only a minute he should be fine, just keep a close eye on him, as sometimes they can damage there swim bladder.

Thanks Wilder,

It was only out about a minute, so I hope he will be ok. Seems to be swimming ok and quickly found his mates again. Am i right in thinking that his tail will heal?

Yes in tip top water quality, check your stats as they can heal themselves in good water quality, good luck.
