Julii Cory Cats?!

Just to make a small point, taking a look over the OP's previous posts, methinks InaneCathode isn't taking the wrong attitude...

I noticed one asking for help, someone replied and the response to the reply was. I have been looking after these fish for years. I work in a shop, You don't know what you are talking about, then posted a link validating his argument which was not correct.

The advert, nor the response to the reply nor the knowledge suggested.

Why do people ask for advice and then say You are wrong I know more than you, I've kept these fish for years? Oh well 5 days into his/her membership. Looking forward to the next month. Gonna get really tetchy on here. lol

:hyper:

to answer the original question , they get to around 3-4 inches long and can be a bit shy . a really good site to get information is www.planetcatfish.com loads of info there , hope this helps :)

Hey guys thanks for the info :D and if what you say is true then my corry cats are a rare bunch :p I'm almost 90% sure their Julii cory cats, I looked at both pics and my Jullis have the spots not the weird line designs like the other cory  anyways.... My new scheme for my tank are

20 Cardinal Tetras
20 Harelquin Rosbaras
4 Pepper Corries
4 Julii Corries
2-3 Clown Loaches
2 yoyo botais
1 pleco (common YES I know it gets big don't worry)
and I'm still undesided with the "centre piece fish", it's either going to be
3-5 Blue or Bulivian Rams
3-5 Silver Dollars
or 3-5 SMALL Anglefish (hoping if they grow up with the cardinals they won't bother them, not sure if they eat cardinals though but I know they eat neons so :p)

which one would you guys choose?

You go in so many different directions on this thread, it's a little hard to follow... Are you wanting this stocking for your 29G?? If that is the case you will have to make this list quite a bit smaller!
It's fun getting in to fish and I know you want a little of everything, but all those fish just won't fit in a 29G. Definitely not big enough for silver dollars a common plec or clown loaches. The yoyos are great little loaches and you could get say 4 or 5 of those and scratch the clowns. Just a thought.
Please be more clear on what size of tank you are trying to stock, thanks.

Hi there,

Definitely NO cardinals with angels.... they be gone overnight

You could probably get away with something a bit bigger, like Rosy Tetras - my angels are fine with them and the LFS agreed they should be OK.

I dont mean to pick on you in this thread, but why are you plotting out that stocking when you already know it wont work. You know the pleco will get too big, you probably already know you need more clown loaches (and if you do get more, you'll need a bigger tank), you already (or should already) know that angels eat neons (i know i said they dont in your other thread, but angels with 40 small colorful fish is a massacre waiting to happen..), and you know silver dollars are too big for your tank...
I know you can just take them back when they get too big, or chow down on your small fish, or get all sorts of depressed, but it seems like kinda a waste of gasoline and stressed out fish...
I'm guessing you're completely changing the topic tank size wise, and are talking about a bigger tank you havent mentioned yet. If you plan on stocking a 29 gallon with that many fish you'll end up with a solid writhing block of fish, and about ten gallons of water suspending it

Again, don't mean to pick on you m8, but seriously.

alright buddy, sorry bout all te arguing here Inane... let's leave the past in the past :D

My55 gallon is getting stockedand my Plecos being sold soon enough... I do know that neons can't go with angles, but I've heard that Cardinals can... whatever I won't add the angles in then, I'll add in mabye... 3 or so Blue rams... but I have been told before that a school of 3 silver dollars would be nice and they only get to 6", which is apparently small enough for a 55gallon tank... I want some kind of "centre piece school of fish"... Anyone got any suggestions that WON'T eat my Cardinals and Harlequins?? or should I just stick with small fish like those and get a school of something else like rosy barbs?? or would they be agressive towards my little fish?? Some bigger fish would be nice..... But still can anyone suggest more fish for this tank?? I'm going to get some extra Corry cats because I love how cute the little buddies are :D still... any suggestions for a centre piece fish???

we have cardinals and angels just fine together, it doesn't work in every case but it's not a complete no no :)
