Hi guys,I just came back from Brunei....got some pix & story to share:

very, very cool!!

that second pic you posted looks wonderful. tell me that it's full of mosquitoes or some other nasty so I can feel better about living in the frozen north!
 
I absolutely love the pictures you took and posted in here! :) Umm, before a mod will go of their head on you (they're quite nice really) ... I dont think you're allowed to post links to other fish forums seeing as it might be seen as competition

Day 1.Nov 6th,2004

Leaving Kuching at 6.30am.

Morning view in the countryside of Kuching:

About 5 1/2 hour later reached Sibu town & saw an accident:

People worship the rock because they believe the rock got power to help them forecast the 4 digit (lottery ticket)!!They even built a hut for it..... -_-

About 3pm,reached Bintulu....then went to the zoo:

Then we(My friend James was with me) went to see sunset nearby the zoo:

Day 2.Nov 7th,2004

Attending morning mass at St Anthony Church.After the mass we drove to Miri,near Brunei border...2 hours drive.

About 1pm reached the Baram bridge,near the Brunei border

Brunei is a beautiful country....the richest country in Borneo:

We forgot to buy the street map...so we're lost in Bandar Seri Begawan.After wasting so much time & petrol,we finally found a budget hotel near the floating village.Its Apek utama Hotel,highly recom. by lonely planet(lady boss told me)....from there,I finally got the map.Without a map,I'm totally "blind"....

Exploring Sungai Tutong at the countryside of Bandar Seri Begawan:

Found a blackwater stream,but no fish was caught there:

Then went to Benutan.A stream got water lily growing on it:

Rasbora caudimaculata...the only fish found in Brunei as our schedule too tight...no time to explore the whole Brunei.So,I miss to find Betta macrostoma.

On the way back to my own country,I stopped at peat swamp forest near Badas.

Day 4.

Leaving Bintulu to Sibu.

I went to survey the nearby area near the ferry

About 4pm,we went to kalimantan border near Indonesia....only surveying:

By the way,I was entering Brunei illegally because I forgot to give the officer my opassport to stamp.I only fill up the form for my vehicle ...so I almost ended up in the jail of Brunei.....Luckily they let me go.....for being the first time :-(
