Joomla?

Hey yesterday someone mentioned joomla! Anyone got any ideas on how to even bloody install the thing ??

What are u hosting with?
u need to be able to have PHP and MySQL database at least
If you have a free host most will not allow what's needed.
How ever i will.


Then you upload the code from Joomla [URL="http/www.joomla.org/download.html"]http/www.joomla.org/download.html[/URL]

then create a database, a user to connect to the database and allow all privileges to the user.

My hosting though has an auto install option so Joomla can be installed with in 5 mins with none of the above

Go back to the site and go through the installation process and enter the database and user name and the off you go.
You then sit there, figgering out the configuration and menu's and then design.

Ok i may be being thick here but you lost me on the second sentence!

Any chance you can explain it in dumb peoples language ?

Joomla uses a data base to store all the data on the site, so u need to have that.
The best thing to do is sent us a link showing what your host dose and dose not allow

From their we can see what u can and cant do.

Yeah most hosts will have auto install scripts so you can quickly install things like joomla from the control panel.
