its nice and simple. as far as adding more plants, kind of depends on what fish you plan to put in there and if more plants for hiding and what not are required for those types of fish. are they real plants or fake? i like the tall grass-like ones in the back. very nice setup :D

must agree with fanofish, add some sort of background to hide wires. maybe a dark blue one, or the one that is dark at the bottom but gradually lightens towards the top. abackground will hide tubes and wires behind the tank and it will help to make the stuff in your tank pop (be more noticable). :D

I think it looks awesome!!! A background I definately think is in order, also I really like the rocks!!! Great looker!!!

Thanks for your comments all

I have a double sided background to add cant make up my mind whether to make it the blue side or the black, I will probably go with blue. Also need to purchase something to stick it on with. Will probably get this when i get some fish this weekend.

All the plants are real, i agree i also like the long thin plants along the back, i also clumped these together which i think look better than them being spread out.

Hi alan, To answer yer questions im nae bad !! its good to meet someone else local on here, I got some rocks from alongside the river Dee, but the better/larger ones from near to the mouth of the river Don, And a few more was taken
from my parent in laws Rockery - ooops. Ive been on a lot of walks looking recentely far more than im used too.

My partner persuaded me to take a few rocks out , but only a few, and none that has changed the general layout of the tank her thinking was a couple less rocks = a couple more fish - Could not argue with that logic  Also gives the bottom feeders a little more room to move at the bottom tank.

I did have some concerns myself about the table like effect in the middle, all the rest of the rocks are pretty secure but if the table took a big hit it may topple. Regardless of the tank would not want to crush anything.

I will take a look at it again tonight when i get home. If i have to delay the tank while i use silicone to fix them i will.

Thanks
John

It's a lovely tank, Jonall.

As for the plants, they will grow and fill out as time goes by. If you add any more, it could get crowded and detract from the simple decor of the rocks. (I like rocks and use them to make caves for my corys). It looks very natural. :D
